PHASE 1: DV EDITING AND MULTIMEDIA Students use the hardware, software, and curriculum to learn video production and TV news. We employ a user-friendly curriculum application, rather than tutorials or manuals. The curriculum teaches the students 3 applications: video production, the operation of software, and the process of taking a raw idea and manufacturing it into a finished news story project. The curriculum includes self-directed Session Guides, 20 template videos for editing practice, a Storyboard Notebook used to assist students in producing a news story, a Quickstart Guide, and a Teacher's Guide with lesson plans, Pre and Post-Tests, and answer keys.PHASE 2: TV STUDIO / VIDEO LAB News or Taped Broadcast with Curriculum - What do you do with 2-40 students in a classroom at the same time? Student's produce live or taped TV news broadcasts in the studio. They rotate different positions, proceeding through each mini curriculum before airtime or taping. Pre and post-tests and grading outcomes are in each curriculum. Pre-produced news stories allow students to enact a live or taped newscast. Curriculum guides students in producing original news stories after templates are completed.PHASE 3: BROADCAST A self-contained system, the School Broadcast Station has all the equipment, curriculum, template graphics, videos and music CDs your students need to broadcast events to the community. The hook is that student's run the operation. What a powerful PR tool for your school! The community has a front row seat to your student's broadcasts.PHASE 4: BROADCAST PROJECTS INCLUDE News, Sports, Debate Tournaments, School Plays, Club Meetings, Video Yearbooks, School Orientation, PTO Events, Family Tree, Weather, Student Interviews, School Board Meetings, Announcements, Lunch Menus, Role Play: Conflict Resolution, Business Participation, Community Activities and many more!

What we provide…

At Digital Classroom, we provide curriculum to cover the broad scope of multimedia used in the world today. We believe that students today should be exposed to the vast array to technology that is available. By using Digital Classroom’s template driven curriculum, students get hands-on experience with the technologies that make the Digital Age as powerful as can be.

Curriculum for operating software and equipment

“What’s the use of a tool if you don’t know how to use it?” Surrounding today’s students with the latest high-tech equipment and software is of no use if the students do not know to use it. We provide curriculum that gives students the keys to the information highway. Our curriculum explains not only how to use a piece of equipment or software but how the equipment or software works. Its application for jobs in the real world.

Curriculum for video editing and productions

In the new digital world, shooting and editing videos has never been easier. Our video editing and production curriculum guides students through the process of editing videos from the ground up. First, pre-production allows students to decide what type of video project they are going to shoot and produce. After the video is shot, our video editing curriculum will guide the student through the process of video editing from the capturing stage, to trimming video clips, adding transitions and titles, finally to outputting the project to DVD, DV tape or live broadcast. Our video production curriculum shows the students the basics of video production such as lighting, script writing, on-scene filming, and much more.

Curriculum for TV Studio

Image the possibilities of broadcasting live programming from your own studio! Our TV/Media Studio curriculum will teach you how to produce your own studio shows. From daily or weekly news shows, to a weekly show with the school’s coaches, the TV/Media Studio curriculum holds the keys to a successful broadcast. Imagine what a great PR tool this could be for a school. Students producing a news show about their school and community.

Curriculum for Broadcasting

In the Digital Age there are several ways to receive information. With our Broadcasting curriculum, students are able to take the programs that they create in the TV/Media Studio and broadcast to cable television and the Internet! The Broadcasting curriculum shows students how to create live web casts, streaming video and live television broadcasts. Using the Broadcasting curriculum turns your TV/Media studio into an information center for the community, both near and far!

Curriculum for Projects

Once students become acclimated to the video editing, TV/Media Studio, and Broadcasting curriculum, project curriculums are the next step. Our project curriculum guides take students step-by-step through the processes of making morning announcements, school orientation videos, video yearbooks, and informative videos such as safety videos. Imagine the possibilities of students developing their own safety videos for businesses around town! These curriculums provide roadmaps for students to integrate their knowledge of video editing and production.

Curriculum Quickstarts

All of the above described curriculums provide in-depth explanations and guidance for students. If you are more interested in learning the basics of a piece of equipment or software then our Quickstarts are for you. Our Quickstarts provide the information necessary to operate a software program or a piece of equipment in a less intensive format as compared to our full version curriculums.

Teacher In-Service and Training

At Digital Classroom, we work closely with the teacher to give the teacher the basics of multimedia. We offer teacher in-services in either one or three day in-services with the possibility of college credit to the teacher as well. After a TV/Media Studio or Video Editing station has been installed, we fully train the teacher with the software and equipment so that they are ready for teaching students. If a teacher leaves a school, then we also train the teacher’s replacement so that the students always have a knowledgeable teacher to turn to for guidance. This can be done at your school, one of our partner universities or the new on line two day In-service.

Updates for Curriculum and Equipment

These days a software program gets updated at least every 6 months. At Digital Classroom, we offer free updates on curriculum as the software updates. Say you buy Pinnacle Studio 11 and two weeks after you get our curriculum Pinnacle updates the software to Pinnacle Studio 11.5. Just contact Digital Classroom for an upgrade of curriculum for free.
